KITE Architects helped Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island rework their approach to member service and engagement via their new retail customer service locations. Working in collaboration with Kelly Taylor Interior Design, KITE structured an intensive discovery phase involving executive and staff interviews, member surveys, and on-site observation. Goals of reinforcing BCBSRI’s community engagement and role as a trusted advisor emerged from these investigations. Early stage design efforts recommended fundamental changes to the workflow and identified key design criteria for spaces including waiting lounge areas, private meeting areas, and a multi-purpose space used for fitness and educational classes.
