In this webinar, KITE Architects will take you inside their Summer Street Support Housing project, breaking down the research-driven design strategies that help residents who have experienced homelessness stabilize and ultimately thrive. These strategies offer a path to designing buildings that help everyone, and reveal the hidden value of well-designed spaces on everyone’s well-being. We’ll examine the research around cognition and behavior that supports design strategies that promote agency, anchoring, social connections, and reduction of environment-induced stress. We’ll also explore how supportive housing is different from a shelter, transitional housing, or affordable housing. More than just a roof over someone’s head, supportive housing is designed with the unique needs of individuals who have experienced homelessness—offering stability, dignity, and access to critical on-site resources and referral services.
We have recorded the session for those who missed it and hope that you will join us for our next installment of the series on Thursday, July 24th. Details to be announced.
