KITE is currently developing plans for the new construction of independent and permanent supportive housing for Crossroads Rhode Island.
The program includes 35 1-bedroom and studio apartments, common areas, a community room, and ground floor offices; as well as Carbon-free systems with ASHP (Air Source Heat Pump) and ultra-efficient envelope qualifying for The RI Zero Energy Building program (20% better than current energy codes).
Developed for people with multiple chronic health conditions making them high users of subsidized health care and emergency rooms, the design employs multiple techniques to support healing and well-being, as well as to accommodate a variety of physical and cognitive disabilities. Additionally, the design is fully compliant with the City of Providence’s Transit Oriented Development zoning overlay.
