Next up in the Summer Street Series:
Busy, Busy, Construction Site: A Look at Construction Phase Roles
May 23rd at 8:30am, Virtual and CEU Approved
To paraphrase Richard Scarry, “What do people do all day… on a construction site?”
A lot of work is happening on our Summer Street Apartment site that isn’t swinging a hammer! Join us for a webinar that takes a deep dive into the roles of Architects, Contractors, and Owners and how we all work together to build a large and important new home for 176 people who have experienced homelessness.
We’ll learn about the rules that help us make construction go smoothly, and give us a path for resolution when they don’t. Whether it is dealing with unexpected changes or supply chain delays, we’ll share lessons learned and best practices to achieve budget and schedule goals.
KITE will be joined by the team at TRAC Builders and we’ll have plenty of time for questions and discussion.

KITE is pleased to announce Behind The Scenes at Summer Street Supportive Housing: A Series of Talks & Hard Hat Tours!
In this ongoing series of bi-monthly construction tours, we will share behind the scenes access to the design and construction of our landmark project with Crossroads Rhode Island.
This is a deep dive into the nitty-gritty of 1,000 design decisions and technical factors for invaluable insights into the future of sustainable supportive housing design.
By opening the curtains to the process, KITE aims to bring together architects, engineers, contractors, and developers for a collaborative learning experience. We believe that by sharing insights and lessons learned, industry insiders can better respond to the needs of Rhode Island’s housing crisis and prioritize design decisions that directly benefit the community at the individual level.
Tour themes will include:
Ground Improvements
Planning, Zoning, and Permits
Energy Performance
Supportive Housing
Urban Design Moves
Patterning and Materiality
And more!
